Procedures for Admission
You must complete an EHD Prequalification application and schedule an interview to determine your eligibility. This should occur at least two weeks prior to your sentencing. To obtain a packet and schedule an interview, please call our office between 8am and 4pm at 260-563-7547.
Eligible Requirements include but are not limited to the following
- Must not have pending charges or active warrants (IC 35-38-2.5-7).
- Must not be charged or convicted of a violent offense based on IC 35-38-2.5-4.7
- Must not be convicted for what would be a Level 1, 2, 3 or 4 Felony
- Must not have been convicted of a drug dealing offenses (except for marijuana as a misdemeanor).
- May be rejected by Community Corrections staff based on prior criminal history.
- May be rejected from the EHD program based on other residents living in the home.
- Must have the final approval of the Community Corrections Director.
- The preferred length of sentence shall not exceed one and a half years in actual length.
